A gift in your will

A gift in your will can help future generations of children be happier, more secure and great parents to their own children.

We’ve been supporting local families since 1903. As times have changed, so have we, but the safeguarding and nurturing of children remains at the heart of everything we do. By leaving a gift to St Michael’s in your will, you’ll help our work to continue.

You can talk to our head of fundraising about leaving a gift to St Michael’s Fellowship in your will:

If you already have a will, you can amend it very easily using a codicil form. You can download a sample Codicil below, to help you in your planning.

A solicitor or other professional advisor will help you with the wording of your gift. Our workbook Leaving a Gift in Your Will has been written to help you prepare for your visit and can be downloaded below.

You’re under no obligation to tell us if you’ve chosen to leave a gift to St Michael’s Fellowship and even if you do, you can of course change your will at any time. However, it would be very helpful if you could let us know your intentions. We’d like to thank you and keep you informed of our work.

Why I’ve remembered St Michael’s in my Will

“I’ve been involved with St Michael’s for many years, both as a Trustee and friend.”

“I’ve seen how they help so many children and vulnerable families and the compassionate and skilled way they guide parents through difficult times. In addition to their highly professional Residential Assessments, the support for young parents in Lambeth and their work with young fathers is both innovative and exceptional. The charity constantly grows and develops, meeting new needs and situations in society as they arise. My respect and affection for them is immense and it is for these reasons that I have left them a legacy in my Will. I believe a legacy looks back and also forward to St Michael’s continuing story.”

Penny Alford, St Michael's Trustee 2007-2016

A gift to a charity

A gift to charity is free of inheritance tax and there may be additional tax benefits which a professional advisor should explain to you.
