What’s made Sue so happy?

That huge smile on Sue, our directors, face isn’t because she loves ironing. No it’s because of the incredible response we’ve had this month from the local community and our supporters.

What’s been happening this September?

This month volunteers helped us sort through a mountain of baby clothes. Some took them home to wash and iron (no small feat) as a bag of baby clothes is a bit like a tardis.

Then more volunteers helped turn them into fabulous packs for the families we work with – including over 15 runners from the local branch of the Good Gym.

On top of that this month, we also asked for help to furnish the flat of a young pregnant mum and local people helped us get hold of furniture and baby equipment.

One of our houses asked for help with baby and toddler book and some wonderful local mums came and dropped them off at our head office.

We asked for nappy donations and they came in by the bag full.

A local family also gave us an ikea children’s bed and donated money so we could but a new mattress. This is on its way to a very grateful family.

How it makes us feel…

We are regularly overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community and how they want to help us to help some of the most disadvantaged families in the country.

So we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been involved this last month.

Thank you.
