One year on from joining St Michael’s Fellowship as CEO last April, Oretha reflects on her first year in post, sharing highlights, learnings and how we’re continuing to strengthen support for families across South London. Watch to hear more about our journey so far and our exciting plans for the year ahead.
The Families First agenda reflects something St. Michael’s Fellowship has believed for more than 120 years: children thrive when families are given the right support at the right time.
As government policy increasingly focuses on earlier intervention, whole-family support, and reducing the need for children to enter care, we believe our greatest contribution lies ahead of us. We are bringing together our expertise in assessment, family support, fathers’ work, contact services, and post-assessment intervention to create a seamless offer for families, one that recognises that lasting change happens through relationships, not through isolated services.
Our ambition is simple but significant: to build a modern family support organisation that remains true to our values while helping shape a future where more children can remain safely within their families and communities.
