After 36 years as Director and 51 years at St Michael’s Fellowship, Sue Pettigrew is retiring at the end of March 2025.
“It has been an honour to lead this organisation, and I want to express my gratitude for the support you’ve provided throughout the years. Working alongside our dedicated staff, trustees, professionals and loyal supporters has been a privilege.
I am pleased to introduce Oretha Wofford as the next Chief Executive following a competitive recruitment process. Her wealth of experience in children’s social care and a strong commitment to ensuring every child has an opportunity to thrive will contribute significantly to achieving our goals.
I am confident that in this new chapter under Oretha’s leadership, St Michael’s will continue to flourish and make a lasting impact on our families for generations to come. I hope you will remain a part of this journey, and I look forward to following the continued success of an organisation that has meant so much to all of us.”
Sue Pettigrew (OBE)

“I am truly honoured to step into the role of Chief Executive at St Michael’s Fellowship. I have seen the life-changing impact of St Michael’s work with families, and it is a privilege to build on Sue Pettigrew OBE’s extraordinary legacy.”
Oretha Wofford

“Sue Pettigrew OBE has brought passion, dedication and immense hard work to the role. Thousands of children’s lives have changed for the better due to the expert, skilful and dedicated work with parents undertaken by our staff team, led by Sue.
Sue has pioneered St Michael’s work with young fathers, and developed strong relationships with local authorities, trusts and foundations, and individual donors without which we could not fulfil our mission as a charity.
To lead a charity effectively for over 30 years is a considerable achievement, and on behalf of all the trustees, managers and staff team members, past and present, I would like to wish Sue all the very best for a long and happy retirement with her family.”
